Wrap up Lagoon Concerts with Winchester Holiday

For seven Wednesdays in a row, thousands of music-lovers of all ages have descended upon the west lawn of Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center to enjoy free music and picnics at the Lagoon Summer Concert Series. This Wednesday, Aug. 12, there will be a total of four free concerts with local band Winchester Holiday closing out the series and the evening with a rousing performance at 6:30 p.m. Beginning at 4 p.m., Post Paradise and Slow Caves will perform on the adjacent lawn, north of Meridian Avenue, as part of the third annual Community Open House and Ice Cream Social. Then, at 6:15 p.m., Little Kids Rock Band Polaris will open for Winchester Holiday on the Lagoon stage. Originally, the band was scheduled to play the Lagoon in mid-July, but due to heavy rains the concert was rescheduled to coincide with the CSU Ice Cream Social. Food trucks Austin Taco, Ba-Nom-a-Nom, The Human Bean and America’s Variety Cart will be parked on Meridian Avenue throughout the evening of free music. The Lagoon Summer Concert Series is produced by Mantooth Marketing with thanks to the generous support of  Colorado State University, Kaiser Permanente and Thrivent Financial. CSU hosts first-ever community bike-in movie

Heeey you guuuuys, "The Goonies" are coming to campus! At 8:30 p.m. this Wednesday, July 29, CSU is hosting a free community bike-in movie at the Laurel Village Pavilion on campus. A new event sponsored by RamTrax and CSU’s Conference & Event Services, this end-of-summer treat is an opportunity for the Fort Collins community to check out the campus. The movie will begin directly after the weekly lagoon concert featuring local band, Three Shots. The quartet will be performing their own style of rock-infused rhythm and blues. Catch the music starting at 6:30 p.m., then head across the street for a unique outdoor film-viewing experience. Gates open at 7 p.m. Getting to Campus In support of CSU’s alternative transportation initiative, community members are encouraged to commute by bike to the event. Don’t forget to pack a blanket; movie snacks will be provided.
