Faced with disease threats to U.S. agriculture, land-grant universities such as Colorado State University must provide a first line of defense to protect public health, economic and national security and the livelihood of farm communities.
The new CIOSU will work to advance University efforts toward strengthening the economic, environmental, cultural and social foundations of the state’s local and regional food systems.
A CSU professor is the co-author of a textbook that is available for free online, and will amount to thousands of dollars of cost-saving for students per year.
CSU is sending three of its own abroad as part of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the State Department’s flagship international exchange program.
CSU is recognized as one of the most sustainable universities in the world. Much of that recognition can be credited to the many student-led sustainability projects on campus.
Each year, CSU celebrates the teaching, research and service achievements of CSU students, alumni and friends, academic faculty, administrative professionals and classified staff.
The hope is that these microinternships could lead to full time jobs.
After a brewer found a 1907 book in the basement of the Morgan Library, he was desperate to prove that black beer from Belgian existed. However, the original book was destroyed in the 1997 flood, but it nevertheless sparked a quest that would culminate in what's now 1554.
Through a co-taught course between philosophy and computer science at CSU, computer science students are asked to grapple with whether or not the technology they produce serves as an effective extension of human values and morals.
