President Joyce McConnell concludes her tenure as the president of Colorado State University this week – a tenure that saw the university through the unprecedented challenges of the global coronavirus pandemic. Here, SOURCE looks back on some of the highlights of McConnell’s time at CSU.
As Miranda gets ready to assume the interim role on July 1, he took some time to discuss his priorities as well as the search for the new president of CSU.
The Board of Governors of the CSU System voted to appoint Rick Miranda, chief academic officer for the CSU System, as interim president of the CSU flagship campus in Fort Collins while the Board undertakes a national search for the 16th president of CSU.
I wanted to write this morning to assure you that the University is in excellent hands with its very capable leadership team – vice presidents, deans, and department and unit heads – and with all of you who are teaching our classes, supporting our students, and keeping CSU running smoothly and well.
University operating hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily throughout the Summer 2022 term that ends on Aug. 5.
The first weekend-long Juneteenth Celebration in Fort Collins is set for June 17-19, and Colorado State University is playing a leading role in hosting the events.

Colorado State University’s plan for Courageous Strategic Transformation received the endorsement of the CSU System Board of Governors.
"Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we continue to live up to our own Principles of Community. We must embrace one another and vow to work tirelessly to ensure that we have a safe and respectful campus that values inclusiveness and encourages different voices to be heard."
