Announcing Dr. Cayla Bellamy as CSU’s new assistant professor of bassoon

Dr. Bellamy comes to Colorado State University following four highly successful years as the bassoon professor at the University of Northern Iowa, where she also taught courses in music education and chamber music, as well as music courses in the liberal arts core. She is an active professional bassoonist, performing nationally and internationally, and is also active in the commissioning and premiering of new works for the bassoon, including works by Theresa Martin, John Steinmetz, and Rebecca Burkhardt. Dr. Bellamy received her D.M. from Indiana University, where she was awarded the Jacobs School of Music Fellowship for Artistic Excellence.
