Reminder: Well-being days scheduled for next week

Administration Building

Editor’s note: As a reminder about next week’s well-being days, SOURCE is running an updated version of the following message, which was sent to CSU employees in October.

Dear CSU Community,

As part of the continued university commitment to mental well-being and overall wellness of our employees, I would like to share with you that in addition to the designated university holidays, President Amy Parsons has approved three well-being days in November during Fall Break. Employees will have the day off on these well-being days, and most University offices will be closed. In our community culture where Rams take care of Rams, we can best take care of one another when we also take good care of ourselves. The well-being days will provide employees with the opportunity to recharge and reset.

Three well-being days will be added to the holidays previously announced as Nov. 23 and 24. This will give faculty and staff without essential duties the entire week off. The well-being days are Monday, Nov. 20, Tuesday, Nov. 21, and Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Thanks to efforts from leadership in CSU’s Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands, the Colorado Natural Heritage Program, the Office of the Vice President for Research and others, CEMML and CNHP employees are able to participate in well-being days next week or later this fiscal year by scheduling them with their supervisor by June 30, 2024.

If any eligible employee cannot take well-being days between Nov. 20 and Nov. 22, supervisors are asked to work with the employee to schedule the same number of well-being days before June 30, 2024. Well-being leave will be an available option for eligible employees in TimeClock Plus. For more details on which employees are eligible for the well-being days and additional information, please see the frequently asked questions on the Human Resources website.

Taking time off is crucial for maintaining a healthy work-life integration and we are happy to provide this opportunity to our employees. These well-being days reflect what have been called Professional Development Days in previous years. The Well-Being Hub and Employee Assistance Program contain resources that support the mental well-being and overall wellness of faculty and staff.
