Spring U-Turn: A one-stop shop for academic support March 1

Story by Jenny Kim

The Spring U-Turn Event will take place on Thursday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the LSC North Ballroom.

U-Turn is a coordinated effort to help students turn their semester around, potentially after receiving a “does not meet expectations” through the Early Performance U-Turn event flier. Feedback system. These students can schedule an appointment before the event in order to avoid a wait time. However, walk-ins are also welcome.

Students who attend U-Turn will be connected with a Navigator, a CSU staff volunteer, who will spend time one-on-one with the student to talk about barriers to their success as well as previous academic achievements. Together, the student and Navigator will make a plan for future academic success. After creating an action plan with their Navigator, students will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives of CSU offices and resources at the event.

The Institute for Learning and Teaching Learning Programs will also be offering 25-minute Academic Success Workshops between noon and 3 p.m. in LSC 382. Topics include study strategies, time management and test-taking skills. The workshops are open to all CSU students, and everyone is encouraged to attend the event. TILT workshops are designed to provide a fresh perspective on a student’s daily habits and sharpen specific skills needed for academic, professional and personal success. It is interactive and focuses on developing new academic skills to promote student success at CSU.
