Colorado State University kicked off its Year of Democracy and Civic Engagement Sept. 14 with a panel discussion and activities on the Lory Student Center Plaza.
As an early celebration of International Day of Democracy on Sept. 15, the College of Liberal Arts and the Thematic Year hosted an ice cream social on the Lory Student Center Plaza. Attendees grabbed a cool treat and engaged in conversations and activities designed by the Center for Public Deliberation around democracy now and in the future, and how to participate.
In addition, a group of CSU faculty examined democracy and the challenges it faces as part of a Democracy Around the World panel discussion in the Michael Smith Natural Resources Building.
