Search underway for next dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences

The search is underway for CSU’s next dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences, with an application deadline of Feb. 9.

The college is seeking a visionary and transformational leader who welcomes and celebrates unique perspectives in the pursuit of solving global challenges. Information about the search and timeline is posted on the provost’s website, and members of the CSU community are invited to share this link with their networks. The search follows the announcement that Dean James Pritchett will serve as the University’s next vice president for Engagement and Extension.

The dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences is one of 10 academic deans serving as part of the Provost’s Leadership Team. The dean enhances and strengthens the college’s commitment to global excellence in agricultural research, education, extension, outreach and engagement.

As part of CSU’s land-grant university heritage, the dean collaborates with faculty to develop the connections and vision to strengthen the college and university’s reputation as a national and international leader in areas related to food safety, food security, wellness and economic prosperity through the sustainable use of natural resources. The dean will also provide leadership for building and enhancing strategic partnerships and collaborations with units across campus and multiple key external stakeholders.

The dean serves as chief academic and executive officer of the college, overseeing responsibility for faculty and academic professional staff development, budgetary oversight and planning, academic and curricular issues, constituent engagement, fundraising and facilities development.
