Participants asked to REACT with tablets in new study on aging

Story by Allison Bielak

unnamed-1Have you done any of these activities in the past three hours?

• Played a game in person or online
• Organized or planned
• Went for a walk
• Talked to a friend

The Healthy Cognitive Aging Lab in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University wants participants to answer questions just like these by joining the study “Recording Everyday Activity and Cognition on Tablets” (REACT).

Candidates will be given a tablet for two weeks and asked to REACT a few times a day to questions and brief brain games. Researchers are interested in how activity participation during the day is linked to people’s memory and attention.

Participants will be entered in a drawing to win one of 20 $50 Amazon gift cards or one of 10 Samsung tablets. Participants must be 40 years or older to join REACT.

Those who are interested in participating, or would like more information, can call (970) 491-2804 or send an email to chhs-hdfs_activity_study@mail.colostate.edu.

This study is conducted by Allison Bielak, an assistant professor in Human Development and Family Studies.
