Cayla Begley was working in the restaurant business in Denver when she was inspired by coworkers and others to go back to school.

Begley, who is originally from Jacksonville, Florida, decided to pursue her associate’s degree at the Community College of Denver as an adult learner. After earning that degree, she knew she wanted to go on and earn her bachelor’s degree, and she chose CSU because it has a strong human resource management major in the College of Business.

Begley said she is unsure what her plans are after graduation, but she is planning to go full swing into a professional position and then potentially get her master’s degree down the road.

“As a nontraditional student who embarked on her academic journey after years of life experience, Cayla Begley has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to her studies and a profound commitment to personal growth,” said Lorie Humphrey, who nominated Begley to be an outstanding graduate. “Her achievement of passing the SHRM-CP exam and her invaluable contributions as a mock interview specialist have not only enriched her fellow students but also exemplified her positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond. Cayla’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of education and serves as an inspiration to all those who seek to embrace new challenges and unlock their full potential.”
