Healthy You: Join CSU’s weight management and mindful eating program

Did you make a New Year’s Resolution to be more aware of your food choices or more mindful of your snacking habits? Whether you want to lose weight, maintain your current weight, or learn more about nutrition, the Healthy You program from the Kendall Anderson Nutrition Center is for you. And CSU employees and students get a discount.

dietimageThe six-week program encourages a non-dieting approach so that participants can continue their success once the program is over. Weekly classes with a registered dietitian provide information on everything from fiber and sugar intake to goal-setting and exercise.

Topics for this year’s course include:
 Portion control
 Planning ahead
 Fiber, sodium, sugar and fat
 Label reading
 Eating on the go
 Stretching and strength building
 Fitting in exercise
 Realistic and achievable goals
 Avoiding relapse

When: Thursdays, Jan. 14 – Feb. 18 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Where: Room 101 Gifford, 502 W. Lake Street, Fort Collins
Cost: $100 (only $60 for CSU employees and students) Sign up with a partner and each save $25. Cost includes a pedometer and curriculum binder!

Don’t have time to attend weekly classes? Sign up for the at-home program instead. The self-paced program includes six units packed with nutrition, weight management, mindful eating and physical activity information. Each unit was adapted from the classroom program and includes activities, recipes and homework to ensure ongoing motivation. The cost is $75.
