Walker Stapleton and Jared Polis, the two major-party candidates for Colorado governor, will debate in Fort Collins on Oct. 17 at an event organized by the Coloradoan newspaper and 9News.

The debate will be held in the Lory Student Center Theater on the Colorado State University campus, 7-8:30 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are required.

The debate topic is education funding, including higher education. 9News journalists will moderate the debate, and the public is invited to submit their questions for the candidates in advance.
