GlobalProtect prompt change occurring May 28

Starting May 28, the GlobalProtect client will display the Duo prompt in a new tab in the user’s default browser, rather than a pop-up window. Upon successful Duo authentication, users will be redirected to a page that prompts them to open GlobalProtect. Once GlobalProtect is connected, this tab may be closed safely.

While the change begins on May 28, it may take several days for the GlobalProtect client to begin using the default browser. In the meantime, users will be able to authenticate to Duo via the built-in browser popup window without issue.

This configuration allows GlobalProtect to take advantage of the enhanced security features of modern browsers and will allow additional methods of Duo authentication at a later date.
