Feb. 26 silent auction for OT students attracts exciting donations

Annually, the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) at Colorado State University hosts a silent auction to support the student organization and help fund opportunities for students to attend the National American Occupational Therapy Conference. This year, SOTA will host its 4th Annual Silent Auction on Feb. 26, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the Lory Student Center Theater.

The silent auction has created quite the buzz around Fort Collins, bringing in such impressive donations as ski lift tickets, weekend getaway trips, jewelry, concert and theater tickets, restaurant deals and much more. However, the event is not all about the items open for bidding. With a cash bar, live music and comedic entertainment, attendees are guaranteed to have a good time and get a taste of the lively personalities of the faculty, staff and students at the Department of Occupational Therapy.

The event will feature musical performances by Derek Gumuchian as well as Tom Severino’s Stylistic Swing Ensemble, featuring the Andrews Singers. Comedy acts will be performed by Mike Davidson, Emily Andrews and Lauren Musick.

The event is open to the public, and there is a $12 entrance fee. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance, and all transactions will be cash or check only.

Donations for the event will be accepted up to the week before the auction. Donors will be recognized by having their organization advertised on signage and being offered a discounted ticket to the event. For more information regarding becoming a donor or purchasing tickets, contact Dani Hansen at danhan@rams.colostate.edu. For those unable to attend the event or donate an item, an online giving portal will be opened this spring where all monetary donations will be used to further support the SOTA.
