The Colorado State University Employee Appreciation Board recently recognized the Do Something Work Group, part of the Student Leadership, Involvement and Community Engagement (SLiCE) office.
What started as an ad-hoc group, helping to promote belonging among students at CSU, has become a very important work group in the Division of Student Affairs.
This group, composed of representatives from many areas of Student Affairs, has created a website, dosomething.colostate.edu, which is a centralized hub for students who have an interest in getting involved at CSU.
The opportunities for student involvement are wide-ranging, so students find ways to become engaged, build relationships and enhance their CSU experience through the website.
The Do Something group presents information at new student orientation, a key time to connect with students.
The nominator shared that “current projects include utilizing RamLink, in collaboration with Institutional Research, to obtain a better understanding of student engagement campus-wide and brainstorming solutions for students faced with housing challenges in mid-August when many start training for their on-campus jobs.” They added: “It’s a great group — people full of creativity and heart.”
The Do Something Work Group was recognized at an appreciation lunch on Feb. 8 and presented with a variety of CSU swag.
