If you have diabetes or prediabetes, or someone in your family has diabetes, then this workshop is for you.
“Diabetes in the Kitchen: Hands-on Cooking Class” will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Kendall Anderson Nutrition Center, located in the Gifford Building, Room 114, 502 W. Lake Street.
Part 1 is an informative overview of diabetes and how to prevent or control it. Part 2 is a hands-on cooking class to learn the skills you need to eat right. Meals include:
• Chicken and Apple Tacos on Baked Corn Tortillas
• Mexican Veggie Bake
• Cilantro Lime Slaw
The cost is $40, which includes printed materials, recipes and a full dinner.
