Celebrate the life of Thomas Sutherland Aug. 20

The family of Thomas Sutherland invites the campus and Fort Collins community to a Celebration of Life, Saturday, Aug. 20, 2-3 p.m., in the ballroom of the Lory Student Center on the Colorado State University campus.

The gathering is open to anyone who would like to join with others to celebrate the memory of Dr. Sutherland, emeritus professor of animal sciences at CSU. He passed away on July 22 at home, surrounded by his family. He was 85 years old.

sutherland-parking-mapThis Celebration of Life will highlight Sutherland’s Scottish heritage, with traditional music provided by Duty Piper Karl Brown, the Northern Colorado Caledonia Pipe Band, the Larimer Chorale and the Ross Family of the Scottish Fiddle Society of Colorado, and recitation of poems of Robert Burns by Kelly Davis.

Parking will be available at no charge in both the lot to the north of the Student Center, next to the Transit Center and accessible from Laurel and Meldrum streets, and the lot to the west of Morgan Library, accessible from Shields and Pitkin streets. An interactive campus map is available here .
