Applications available for childcare tuition assistance

Are you a CSU student-parent who needs help with childcare tuition for the 2016-17 school year? If you meet income eligibility requirements, you may qualify for childcare tuition assistance at the CSU Early Childhood Center or at Sunshine House at CSU.

Administered by the U.S. Department of Education, the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) grant supports the participation of income-eligible student-parents in postsecondary education through the provision of tuition assistance at campus-based childcare programs.

CCAMPISFunds-webEligibility is determined by financial need. Student parents must be enrolled at CSU in Fort Collins as either an undergraduate or graduate student and must be registered for at least one credit each semester to receive CCAMPIS funds.

Karen Rattenborg, administrator on the CCAMPIS grant and executive director of the CSU Early Childhood Center, explains, “CCAMPIS is a great example of how student parents are supported here at CSU. Access to high-quality settings for children allows parents to be productive in their studies and promotes success for both the children and the parents.”

Childcare options at CSU

CSU offers two fully licensed, on-campus childcare programs: the CSU Early Childhood Center and Sunshine House at CSU. Both programs offer year-round childcare services for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years and are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Enrollment at both the CSU Early Childhood Center and Sunshine House are on a space-available basis. Contact each program directly for information on enrollment processes and space availability. Eligibility for CCAMPIS funds does not guarantee space at Sunshine House or the Early Childhood Center.

Testimonials

“The funds from CCAMPIS alleviated a large burden from my mind and heart and allowed me to find a place where my kids would be taken care of while I finished my schooling,” one participant said.

Another commented, “Help with funding at this facility made it possible for me to pursue my career goals and build a better future for my daughter.”
