Pitkin Street closes on campus in two phases for repaving
Pitkin Street will be closed north of the Stadium construction site in two phases for repaving, with the primary work being completed during Spring Break.
Hughes Way will temporarily change to a one-way east bound into campus. To accommodate the detour route (see map below), students must remove their vehicles from parking spots on Hughes Way by 4 p.m. Friday, March 10, before Spring Break. Loading zones for residence halls along Hughes Way also will be closed that evening through Saturday, March 18. Vehicles not moved from Hughes Way before the deadline will be towed. Parking and loading zones will reopen at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 18. Students who live on campus and are leaving vehicles over Spring Break may park in the Ingersol Lot (lot 215).
Local access to Ingersol Hall, Edwards Hall, Summit Hall and Academic Village will be granted between March 11-18 from the west on Pitkin Street. Access to Newsom, Aylesworth and Braiden Hall will be granted from Hughes Way, which will temporarily be a one-way east onto campus for the week of road work. Morgan Library and Hartshon Health Center also will be accessible only from Hughes Way during that timeframe. Northbound only traffic will be diverted up Meridian Avenue to Plum or Laurel Streets. Meridian will be temporarily open from the morning of March 11 to 7 p.m. March 18 only.
Starting at 7 p.m. March 18, Hughes Way will revert back to a one-way westbound, and Meridian will be closed to all through traffic, with the exception of buses and emergency vehicles.
The Pitkin Street second phase closure consists of repaving Pitkin east of Meridian from March 20-25. Those accessing Braiden Hall shall continue to use the temporary access road from the Library Parking Lot. Pitkin will fully reopen the evening of March 25.
