Nearly all donor bricks in place at new stadium

Take a look at video of bricklayers putting the finishing touches on thousands of custom-printed bricks meticulously placed to greet fans arriving at CSU’s new stadium.

The 4,725 bricks — each with a custom message from a donor — will spell “RAMS” when the layout is finished.

For Tyler Van Eeckhaut, seeing the bricks go in has special meaning. The 2013 CSU construction management graduate is assistant project manager for Mortenson Construction and he bought a brick to add support to a project he’s helping to build.

“It’s going to be a special place,” Van Eeckhaut said of the plaza of donor bricks. “We’re able to give back a little bit to the university and also get something that’s going to be here for a long time.”

An official dedication of the bricks will take place at 11:40 a.m. on August 5, as part of CSU’s Community Open House.
