Colorado State University is offering $1 tickets to the Jan. 27 women’s basketball game at Moby Arena in hopes of attracting a sellout crowd.

The initiative, spearheaded by CSU President Amy Parsons and the Department of Athletics, aims to provide the women’s team with as much support as the men’s team. Both squads started the season undefeated at 9-0 for the men and 8-0 for the women, making CSU one of only four institutions in the country with such a streak for both men’s and women’s basketball.

“This team is pushing their level of play with every game, and they are garnering national attention,” Parsons said. “Our whole community will want to cheer on this phenomenal group of student athletes. I’m hoping Ram fans will come together and make history with a sellout game on Jan. 27!”

As part of the push to sell out the game, CSU is inviting a host of local and regional leaders from governmental agencies and civic organizations, as well as donors. The Jan. 27 game against San Jose State tips off at 1 p.m. The $1 tickets are available at col.st/NECvJ.

Fight Like a Ram

It is also the Fight Like a Ram game, a partnership with UCHealth that involves both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. For this game, the players take their names off the back of their jerseys and wear the name of a local cancer warrior instead. The men’s Fight Like a Ram game is Feb. 17.

“We’d love to sell out Moby for one of our games, but particularly this one,” women’s basketball Coach Ryun Williams said. “This is our most important game of every season. We want people to see the high level of basketball our young women play night in and night out. We want to grow the game of women’s basketball. But on this specific date, we’d love to see the arena filled for Fight Like a Ram night to show all of our cancer warriors that we’re representing; they are not fighting alone.”
