TEDxCSU accepting nominations and applications until Nov. 6

TEDxCSU information

TEDxCSU, an annual event put together by RamEvents, is coming back to Colorado State University on March 25, 2018, and applications and nominations are due Nov. 6.

RamEvents is a student-led programming board that is committed to bringing diverse and transformational events to campus. TEDxCSU is designed to bring speakers from Fort Collins, Northern Colorado and the CSU community together for an afternoon of inspiration, connection and conversation. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate someone or apply themselves to speak at the event in the spring.

TEDxCSU will provide a platform for speakers to share their ideas with engaged individuals, and the team is committed to finding speakers that have “Ideas Worth Spreading” while capturing the essence of TED: Technology, Entertainment and Design.

What is the committee looking for?

When considering whether to apply or nominate someone else, consider what the TEDxCSU team is in search of:

  • New ideas that originate in your community but are widely relatable.
  • Ideas that need to be defended – not something self-evident, but an interesting argument, perhaps with an antagonist.
  • An idea the TED world hasn’t heard before.
  • Ideas that change perceptions. (e.g., a scientific discovery that changes how you think about frogs, a philosophical argument that reshapes your notions of friendship.)

Nominate or apply

Do you have or know about an “Idea Worth Spreading”? Apply here or nominate a speaker here until Monday, Nov. 6.

TEDxCSU will also host an exhibit hall during the event, to showcase Northern Colorado’s most innovative entrepreneurs and companies. Good candidates for displaying any advances at the exhibit hall can be emailed to tedxcsu@colostate.edu.

Questions regarding the event, can be directed to tedxcsu@colostate.edu.
