As he prepares to graduate with a master’s degree in Computer Information Systems from the College of Business, Teddy Nyambe has worked hard not only in the pursuit of his own success but to change the world. 

“My educational journey at the College of Business has sparked a newfound passion for data science and machine learning,” Nyambe said. “I firmly believe in the transformative potential of these fields to enhance the quality of life for humanity. I am particularly drawn to research that focuses on leveraging data science and machine learning for social good, with a particular emphasis on education, health care and commerce. I am confident that my unwavering dedication to education, coupled with my newfound passion, will enable me to contribute significantly to the betterment of both the global community and, more importantly, my beloved country, Zambia.” 

That strong desire to give back to his home country comes as no surprise to Nyambe’s advisor, Cynthia Scarpa. 

“Teddy sparks joy in everyone he meets and goes out of his way to help other students in the program,” Scarpa noted in her nomination.
