The School of Global Environmental Sustainability at Colorado State University has selected 20 early career researchers as Sustainability Leadership Fellows for the 2016-2017 academic year. The School’s prestigious program prepares future innovators and thought leaders with science communication and career development training.
“We had a large group of very accomplished applicants, making the selection process quite competitive,” said Diana Wall, SoGES director and CSU University Distinguished Professor. “This outstanding group of doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers, drawn from across campus, is poised to make important contributions to environmental sustainability in the years ahead.”
SoGES recognizes that CSU’s academic researchers and doctoral students will play an important role in the complex decisions that will determine our environmental future.
Over the course of one year, fellows receive leadership training, which includes learning how to effectively communicate science to the media and public. Fellows also are taught strategies to build successful careers that incorporate meaningful engagement in an interdisciplinary way.
