With the new academic year beginning, there is much to celebrate, including the incredible opportunities that scholarships help create for new and continuing Rams.

Throughout the previous academic year, 2,900 students received a cumulative $15.5 million in scholarship support. This meaningful support played an integral role in Colorado State University scholarship recipients achieving an 89% graduation rate. Among them is Junior Martin, who recently earned his Bachelor of Science thanks in part to scholarships.

“I want to use my computer sciences skills to create solutions that make a difference in people’s lives and help make the world a better place for my daughter,” said Martin. “Scholarships gave me hope as I navigated higher education’s complexities and the future’s uncertainties.”

Year over year, 20% of all philanthropic contributions to CSU are dedicated to scholarships. The 2022-2023 academic year alone saw an inspiring display of generosity, with 5,500 donors contributing a cumulative $21.2 million in scholarship support.

Through their gifts, scholarship donors not only transform individual lives like Martin’s, but they also positively enrich the broader CSU community by fostering a highly educated workforce and a thriving local economy.

“Scholarships have life-changing impacts and make education possible, leading to positive change for families and future generations,” remarked Joe Donlay, CSU’s executive director of financial aid.
