Ride through the Oval on Feb. 9 for free breakfast in celebration of Winter Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day

Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day
Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day is set for Friday, Feb. 9.

It is time again for the twice-yearly, citywide festival of bikes, food and community called Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day.

Colorado State University’s breakfast station at the Oval (just north of Administration) will be open from 7-9:30 a.m. on Feb. 9 and is one of dozens available throughout the city. This year, attendees can look forward to breakfast burritos, sandwiches, churros, Milo’s tea, coffee from Momo Lolo, products from Morning Fresh Dairy and a cinnamon roll showdown between Vern’s Place and Silver Grill. Spin will offer e-bike and e-scooter demos. The Spoke will be available for free bike adjustments.

CSU’s station often ranks as one of the most visited in the city, with a record 1,725 visitors for last summer’s event and 514 in the winter of 2023.

“We’re honored to host one of the most popular breakfast stations in town alongside our great co-hosts,” said Jamie Gaskill, associate director of active transportation with Parking and Transportation Services. “Winter Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day is a chance to celebrate one of the most popular ways to get to campus year-round. It’s also a great opportunity for someone to try riding to school or work for the first time.”

Co-hosts of the station include CSU Parking and Transportation Services, the CSU Police Department, The Spoke, Spin, the Fort Collins Cycling Club, Milo’s Tea, Republic Services, Morning Fresh Dairy, the Silver Grill Cafe, Vern’s Place, the Momo Lolo Coffee Shop and CSU Housing and Dining Services.
