The CSU women’s basketball team will face a familiar foe when the 64-team Women’s National Invitation Tournament begins Thursday.

The Rams, winners of back-to-back Mountain West regular-season titles, will host Northern Colorado on Thursday night at Moby Arena. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.

CSU (23-7) has posted back-to-back 20-win seasons under third-year coach Ryun Williams and is making its second consecutive trip to the WNIT. UNC (20-12) finished second in the Big Sky Conference Tournament.

The Rams and Bears have not played since 2011, but CSU leads the all-time series 20-11, including a 13-3 record in Fort Collins. The winner of this game advances to play the winner of the South Dakota-Creighton game. Date and site of that game are to be determined.
