Earning a degree is hard work, but it can be especially challenging when you’re coming into it as a first-generation adult learner with both ADHD and kids to take care of. Luckily, Seth Hibbard isn’t one to back away from a challenge.

Growing up in the 1990s, Hibbard learned a lot from TV biologists like David Attenborough and Steve Irwin. His passion for the outdoors and wildlife grew as he did, eventually leading him to the Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology major at Colorado State University. He’ll be graduating with a concentration in Wildlife Biology.

“It was partly passion, partly support from my family and my wife,” Hibbard said about why he decided to pursue his degree in this field.

Hibbard quickly became an attentive, knowledgeable and reliable student in the major, all while juggling work and family alongside his studies. His teachers recognize him as an eager participant in class and someone who can bring diverse perspectives to the table.

After graduating, he hopes to continue his studies at CSU, working toward a graduate degree. As a Research 1 university located near many national parks and wildlife conservation job sites, Hibbard is eager for the opportunity to get more hands-on experience in wildlife management.
