The Division of University Marketing and Communications recently won a host of honors for its work on branding and video.

MarComm’s Department of Marketing and Brand Management has earned a variety of awards for the “Find Your Energy” brand refresh, which rolled out nearly a year ago. In addition, CSU videographer Hannah Tran received two “Telly” awards for her work.

The ongoing Find Your Energy brand refresh has featured an advertising campaign, campus environmental elements like window treatments on CSU buildings, new admissions materials, a video, a new CSU home page, swag and off-campus activations at locations like the Denver International Airport and Empower Field.

Video honors

On the Social and Digital Media team, Tran won honors in the 45th Annual Telly Awards for two video projects.

Rooted in Abundance: 25 Years of Pride,” a short documentary exploring the trajectory of the Pride Resource Center and LGBTQIA+ community at Colorado State University over the past 25 years, won a Silver Telly in the category “Social Video – Documentary: Short Form (Under 40 Minutes).”

Tran’s other award, also a Silver Telly, was given for “How to Be a Better Earthling” in the category “Social Video – Sustainability.” In an effort to share CSU’s expertise in sustainability with the campus community and beyond, a YouTube series called “How To Be A Better Earthling” provides simple and actionable tips for viewers to live more sustainably on campus and in their everyday lives.

“As a gifted filmmaker, Hannah’s commitment to deepen our inclusive storytelling and spotlight CSU’s expertise in sustainability is extraordinary,” Assistant Vice President for Social and Digital Media Kimberly Stern said. “She brings CSU’s vibrant community to the forefront of her work and does so in beautiful and impactful ways. The national recognition of her work by industry leaders at the Telly Awards is further validation of Hannah’s expertise and talents in visual storytelling, and we’re proud that she is a member of our MarComm team.”
