Joys for tots: Second annual toy drive surpasses 2017 total

Toys for Tots 2018Generous donors across campus have done their part to make sure area children have a happy holiday.

CSU’s second-annual Toys for Tots toy collection drive brought in 867 toys for children in Larimer County. That tops last year’s total of 795 by 72 toys.

Donations from across campus

Toys were collected at 38 sites across campus through December. Janet Mabon, who brought the program to campus last year, gathered the toys with help from her husband, Ross, and daughter, Jessie.

CSU’s Facilities Management donated a collection truck and gas to collect the toys, which are taken to a warehouse and divided by wish lists that are provided by local charities and churches. The toys are distributed to children in need, including those in foster home and safe houses.
