In memory: Paul Bengford

Paul E. Bengford, age 81, passed away at home on March 21, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Paul was born on October 23, 1936, in Odebolt, Iowa, to Joseph and Helen (Dinges) Bengford. He graduated from Odebolt High School in 1955 and married Darlene Paul in Odebolt on July 27, 1957. They had three children: Dusty, Jami and Kristi.

In 1956 Paul moved to Ft. Collins to learn the brick mason trade after which he became a partner in A,B & B Masonry, Bengford Masonry, and P & L Masonry during the next 20 years. He and his wife, Darlene, bought Sir Speedy Printing/The Printing Press and operated that for the next 10 years. After selling the printing business he then worked at the CSU printing department for 10 years before retiring.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene, of 60 years; son, Dusty (Cindy); daughters, Jami Spitz and Kristi Rock; grandchildren, Justin (Kendra) Spitz, Ashley Spitz-Sell, Tiffany Spitz, Cody (Kylie) Bengford, Mary Bengford, Jay (Brooke) Rock and Josh Rock; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary VanScoy and Dorothy (Jim) Barkley; and brother, Frank Bengford.

Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Juanita Ahrenholtz; brothers, Gerald, Don, Denny and Leonard Bengford.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday,  April 6, at John XXIII Catholic Church in Ft. Collins. The family requests donations be given to Pathways Hospice, in care of Vessey Funeral Service
