A memorial tree planting at Rossborough Park is scheduled at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the corner of Sam Houston Circle and Casa Grande Blvd. A bur oak will be planted. For more information, contact Lori Kogan at Lori.Kogan@colostate.edu.
Matthew R. Moeller, age 61, passed away on August 24. He was born in Ft. Collins in 1953.
Matt was a veteran of the United States Navy and recently retired from Colorado State University, where he worked as an information technology specialist.
Matt was a devoted father to his beloved daughters and caregiver for his mother. Matt was a lover of science, nature and all kinds of gadgets. He enjoyed fixing things and was a resourceful problem solver. He also worked on behalf of neglected animals and was a pet lover. He was an amateur astronomer and worked as a volunteer naturalist for Larimer County Parks, where he was able to share his knowledge and interest in nature with others.
He leaves behind his mother, Virginia Finley; daughters, Jennifer Perks and Alyson Moeller; sister and brother-in-law Karin and John Jones; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Renee Moeller; nieces, Emily and Madison Moeller,;nephews Brady and Shaun Jones; and numerous cousins and close friends.
A memorial service was held to scatter his remains in the mountains that he so loved on Saturday, September 5.
