Greater than the sum of its parts

CSU System’s 2023 Impact Report explores connections, documents results  story by Anthony Lane published July 24, 2023

The CSU System has released its 2023 Impact Report, highlighting achievements across the System’s three degree-granting campuses and exploring systemwide initiatives and activities that benefit the state, the region, and the world.

Among these initiatives is the three-building CSU Spur campus in north Denver, which started welcoming visitors at the start of 2022 and has been fully open since January of this year. The public-facing campus was designed to advance research, innovation, and education in areas related to food, water, and human and animal health, and the report documents key milestones achieved in the first 18 months.

The CSU System’s three degree-granting campuses – the flagship research university in Fort Collins, a regionally focused Hispanic Serving Institution in Pueblo, and a fully online public university, CSU Global – together educate more than 50,000 students each year and have more than 311,000 living alumni worldwide. In addition to CSU Spur, the System supports a range of cross-cutting initiatives and activities focused on supporting communities and addressing societal challenges.

“The work we are doing across the CSU System is fundamentally about unlocking human potential,” said CSU System Chancellor Tony Frank. “Our land-grant mission of promoting access and opportunity guides us each day as we welcome and support students from all walks of life.”

In addition to providing snapshots of the CSU, CSU Pueblo, CSU Global, and CSU Spur campuses, the report describes international activities at CSU Todos Santos, located in Baja California Sur, Mexico, statewide work happening through CSU Extension, and collaborative efforts at the Sturm Collaboration Campus in Castle Rock and the Northeast Regional Engagement Center in Sterling.

The report provides an overview of the CSU System’s economic development activities and work supporting educational access. It also includes updates on the work of core partners: the Center for the New Energy Economy, the Colorado Futures Center, the North American Agricultural Advisory Network, the Salazar Center, and Together We Grow.
