Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day on June 26 features giveaways with closing ceremonies on Oval

Bike To Work Day
This is the first year that CSU has hosted the closing ceremonies.

Get ready to pedal. Fort Collins’ 36th annual Summer Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day is set for Wednesday, June 26, from 6:30-9:30 a.m.

Those who ride their bicycle to campus will be treated to free food, drinks and other treats at Colorado State University’s station on the Oval just north of the Administration Building. The CSU Oval station expects more than 1,500 riders this year.

From 9:45-10:15 a.m., the Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day closing ceremony will take place on the stairs of the Administration Building, with remarks from council member Tricia Canonico, music by Eastwood and Holly, recognition of the Golden Handlebar award recipients The Signs and Pavement Markings Team, and custom 2024 swag. This is the first year that CSU has hosted the closing ceremonies.

“Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day is a time for the community to come together and celebrate bicycling,” said Nate Vander Broek, active transportation professional with Parking and Transportation Services. “There are stations located throughout Fort Collins, both in the morning and afternoon, where bicyclists can receive free food, drinks, swag, and even have your bike adjusted by a mechanic.  If you’ve never biked to work, this is a great day to start and enjoy some free snacks on your commute.”

Free items that will be available at the CSU station include breakfast burritos, churros, sausage biscuits, coffee from Momo Lolo, products from Morning Fresh Dairy and other giveaways. The Spoke will provide free adjustments on bikes.

Co-hosts of the station include CSU Parking and Transportation Services, the CSU Police Department, Housing and Dining Services, CSU Central Receiving-Surplus, The Spoke, Spin, Fort Collins Cycling Club, Republic Services, Morning Fresh Dairy, and Momo Lolo Coffee Shop.

More information and a map of all 86 stations throughout the city are available online.
