Everyday Hero: Marg Peters

Marg Peters has been at CSU for 10 years as an equipment operator III in Facilities Management.

She moved to Colorado in 2000 from Wisconsin for the climate. She has two daughters who have graduated from CSU. Marg started as an on-call driver and in 2010 she was moved to the only full time position.marg everyday hero

“Marg regularly goes above and beyond the regular duties for her position. She always puts the needs of the customer first,” said Robert Killian. Robert also said she “displays a helpful and congenial attitude with her colleagues.”

One thing that her fellow employees don’t know about her is that she used to collect rocks.

In her free time, Marg enjoys road trips with her husband and little dog Oakley.

“My mission is to visit all the National Parks and historical and natural areas in different states,” she said. “Even though my job involves travel, I enjoy  road trips.” She also likes birds and wildlife and is a member of Raptor, National Geographic, and the Wildlife Federation.

Marg thought it was GREAT to be nominated and receive this award. She loves working at CSU and is looking into joining CPC. In the future she would like to be involved with parks and recreational tourism.

Everyday Hero is a special program sponsored by the Classified Personnel Council to recognize the day-to-day achievements of all CSU employees (state classified, administrative professionals, and faculty). To nominate someone, visit the CPC website.
