Management Professor Samantha Conroy would appreciate your help with a research survey about workplace use of email and other electronic communications. This is a follow up to a recent study by Conroy and two other researchers recently publicized in hundreds of media outlets including CNBC, The Boston Globe, and Financial Times among others. Your participation will help investigate a number of important questions raised by that study.

The survey is open to adults working more than 30 hours per week.  At the end of the survey you will be asked to provide an email address of one or more managers at your company and your significant other (if applicable) in order for them to complete a short survey on the same topic.

Your participation is voluntary and confidential and only the general findings from the study will be published.  Managers will only be told that an employee in their organization is participating in a scientific study of electronic communication.  Your name or any other identifying information will not be disclosed to the manager(s). For every survey response that includes a completed manager or spouse survey, researchers will donate $1 to the general fund of Colorado State University.  In addition, individuals who respond to the survey and have a completed manager or spouse survey will be entered into a drawing for one of several mini-iPads.  Everyone who submits a survey response will also have the option of receiving a summary of the study’s findings.
