CSU and the Lincoln Center present Mother Falcon

Jam session grows into indie orchestra

Mother Falcon began as a jam session among a few adventurous high school cellists eager to break out of the rigid repertoire dominating their musical training.

Mother Falcon is an orchestral indie band from Austin, Texas that has become an award winning recording act.

In the seven years since, violins, saxophones, trumpet, piano, accordion, banjo, guitars and bassoon have joined that small group of cellists in an indie orchestra of twenty classically trained young musicians determined to push their playing and composing ever further forward.

As part of Colorado State University and the Lincoln Center’s Classical Convergence Series, Mother Falcon will appear on Friday, September 19, 7:30-9 p.m., in Griffin Concert Hall, University Center for the Arts, 1400 Remington Street.

Season of world-class performers

Colorado State University and the Lincoln Center will build on the classical concert programs of both organizations to co-produce a season featuring seven world-class performers and ensembles, performing at the University Center for the Arts and the Lincoln Center.
