Colorado State University, Oct. 2-6, 2019

This year’s Homecoming celebration took a look back on CSU’s legacy and looked forward to the next century and a half of impact as part of the sesquicentennial celebration. Events included the Homecoming Parade, Friday Night Lights, the Homecoming 5K, the Homecoming football game and much more.

The College of Agricultural Sciences began a new chapter when it broke ground on a significant rennovation project. A project that’s years in the making, the undertaking will transform the Shepardson building into a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility over the next 18 months. read more

President Joyce McConnell, Vice President for Diversity Mary Ontiveros and Vice President for Student Affairs Blanche Hughes hosted a “fireside chat” on diversity, equity and inclusion as part of the annual Diversity Symposium at CSU, which included 50-plus sessions. The symposium also featured a keynote presentation by Kimberlé Crenshaw, a professor of law at UCLA and Columbia Law School. read more

CSU Soccer

CSU Soccer Field, Oct. 18, 2019

CSU’s women’s soccer team beat Utah State 3-0. After years of finishing at or near the bottom of the Mountain West standings, they are one of the top teams in the conference. “It’s an amazing feeling thinking about the tournament. All of the pain and ups and downs have all paid off,” said Halley Havlicek, senior on the team. read more

The Oval, Oct. 16, 2019

The 33rd year of C.A.N.S. Around the Oval wrapped up on Oct. 16, generating $51,966 in donations and 17,918 pounds of food. C.A.N.S., which stands for “cash and nutritious staples,” is one of the largest fund and food drives in Northern Colorado. read more

Nancy Richardson Design Center, Oct. 18-20, 2019

Thirty participants from CSU and Front Range Community College worked in six teams to develop virtual reality experiences from scratch in one weekend at the fourth annual RamReality Hackthon. Team Memento won first place with a virtual reality program designed to allow the user to perform everyday tasks as an impaired individual. read more

CSU’s Native American Cultural Center kicked off Native American Heritage Month with the annual AISES Pow Wow. Upcoming events in November include a talk with New Mexican artist Kristina Maldonado Bad Hand and the annual Harvest Dinner Community Event. read more
