Alex DesRosiers, a hurricane researcher at Colorado State University in the Department of Atmospheric Science, has the answers. He earned his Ph.D. at CSU in 2024 studying tropical cyclone dynamics – specifically the factors that determine how and when a hurricane rapidly intensifies.
DesRosiers is part of the Tropical Weather and Climate Research Team at CSU, which has provided accurate seasonal hurricane forecasts that meteorologists, media and officials have relied on for over 40 years.
