Come join the fun at the 2018 Community Open House

Community Open House 2018
More than 20,000 people showed up for the 2017 Community Open House when Canvas Stadium celebrated its official opening. The 2018 event is set for Aug. 4.

Colorado State University once again is putting out the welcome mat and inviting everyone to the annual Community Open House.

This year’s event, set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, at CSU’s Canvas Stadium, will feature live music, inflatables for the kids, lots of giveaways and – of course – complimentary ice cream!

The event is free and open to the public.

If you didn’t get the chance to see the newly named Canvas Stadium last year during the inaugural season, the Community Open House is a great opportunity to have a look around and sample some of the game-day food fare. Concessions stands will be open, as will the popular New Belgium Porch on the stadium’s north side.

Check out the Rams

Fans will also get a sneak preview of what’s to come on the football field this autumn as the Rams will be holding a preseason scrimmage. The Rams and coach Mike Bobo are coming off a fifth consecutive bowl appearance and will be looking to improve on last year’s 7-6 finish. The scrimmage begins at 1 p.m.

Community Open House 2018All guests entering Canvas Stadium are required to go through bag inspection, including metal detection screening. Re-entry is allowed but includes re-screening upon each entry. The standard clear-bag policy will be in effect for the scrimmage; strollers are not permitted in the stadium.

Great music, fun for all

If you love live music, two area favorites – Mama Lenny and the Remedy and Porlolo – will be sharing their unique and upbeat sounds.

Parking is free in most campus lots on Saturdays; lots open at 10 a.m. Bike racks will be available for those wishing to ride to the game, and the Fort Collins Max bus system will operate on its normal Saturday schedule.

So, join your friends and make yourself at home during this annual celebration of CSU and community. And did we mention free ice cream?
