Lisa See, bestselling author of novels that focus on the lives of Chinese and Chinese American women and the biographical On Gold Mountain: The One-Hundred-Year Odyssey of My Chinese-American Family, will talk about her soon-to-be released novel, The Island of Sea Women, Sunday, March 10, in Fort Collins.

Taking place over decades of hardship and unforeseen struggles, The Island of Sea Women follows two women’s unlikely friendship as they navigate personal adversity, political unrest, danger and uncertainty on the Korean island of Jeju, before and after World War II. The book, chosen as one of Lit Hub’s Most Anticipated Books of 2019, is scheduled for release in March.

See’s presentation, part of the Colorado State University Morgan Library’s Evening with an Author series, actually takes place in the afternoon, at 2 p.m. at the Hilton Fort Collins, 425 W. Prospect Road. Doors open at 1:30 p.m., and seating for this free event is on a first-come first-serve basis; no tickets required. Book sales and signing follow the program.
