CSU construction management teams add to trophy case

Students from Colorado State University’s Department of Construction Management won awards last week at the Associated Schools of Construction Regions 6 and 7 competitions.

Fifty CSU students traveled to Sparks, Nevada, for the Feb. 8-11 competition involving member schools of the Rocky Mountain and Far West regions of ASC. The seven CSU teams returned with six placings and two presenter awards.

For Region 6, CSU teams took first place in the Commercial division and second place in the Design-Build category.

In the Open competition, CSU students took second place in “Sustainable Building and LEED,” second in “Mechanical,” third in “Virtual Design and Construction” and third in “Pre-Construction.”

Zac Alves of the Design Build Team and Chris Pettofrezzo from the Mechanical Team were awarded best presenter in their competitions.

Congratulations to all the students who participated in this year’s ASC competition.
