Hungry students, staff and visitors will have plenty of options this fall with the addition of two chicken-themed restaurants opening in August at the Lory Student Center. Wing Shack and Sexy Sammies will move into the space on Level 100 formerly occupied by Fifty30 sandwich shop, next to Ramskeller Pub & Grub.

Wing Shack started in Garden City, Colorado, in 2004 and now has more than 10 locations along the Front Range. Wing Shack remains dedicated to its mission of serving the highest quality wings prepared fresh and sauced with care. Customers can choose from signature sauces and dry rubs along with a variety of flavorful handhelds, salads and sides as well as plant-based options. As Wing Shack continues to grow, it continues to offer excellent service and a memorable dining experience for all its customers.

Sexy Sammies Chicken Sandwiches & Tenders, founded in the spring of 2021, serves its tenders in three styles: Original, Nashville Hot and Buffalo. It also features boxed-lunch combos, sandwiches and salads, served with signature sauces, including its house-made Ranch and Sexy Sauces.

This will be the fourth Sexy Sammies location for its parent company, Centennial Hospitality Group (a third store opens in Johnstown this summer), and the company’s eleventh Wing Shack location. The first Wing Shack opened in 2004 in Greeley, and two Sexy Sammies restaurants now operate near the University of Northern Colorado campus.

CHG’s founder Brian Seifried, a Colorado native who first moved to Northern Colorado to attend CSU, said the group has been interested in expanding operations to Fort Collins and the opportunity to be on campus at Colorado State University seemed a perfect fit.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be in the LSC,” Seifried said, “and we’re super-excited to be near the Ramskeller. I love the activity and energy of the university.”

The contemporary look and feel of the venues are a good match to the vibe of the university, he said, and Sexy Sammies’ tech-forward approach, which features contactless ordering kiosks and streamlined payment options, will appeal to this “on-the-go” community. Guests will be able to order online in advance or place orders onsite at the kiosks and pick up their meals from individual cubby spaces.

Sexy Sammies’ look, which will be replicated at the LSC venue, was designed by Los Angeles-based reality TV set designer Jeffrey Eyser of FTB Design. It features the use of natural materials, clean lines, relaxing greens and blues, and bold graphic elements.

Both venues will serve all-natural, humanely raised chicken that is never treated with antibiotics.

“We do it well, we do it real, and we do it with love,” Seifried said.
