Power up your RamCard for free eBooks, music, movies and more

ramcardchip275(1)Three clicks gets you benefits! Colorado State University students, faculty and staff can now upgrade their RamCards to public library cards at no extra cost. This partnership between the Morgan Library and the Poudre River Public Library District allows members of the CSU community to gain additional resources through online and local platforms.

Using RAMweb, any CSU ID can be activated as a PRPLD card. Those who register for this service will be entered in a series of giveaways throughout September from RamTech, CSU’s one-stop-shop for all computing, software and electronic needs at educational prices.

Upon registering for your new PRPLD card, your name will be entered in a drawing for a pair of CSU Rams headphones and a grand-prize pair of Beats Solo On-Ear Headphones. One prize will be awarded for each week in September.

Free coffee on the plaza

There will be a kiosk on the plaza Sept. 9 providing free coffee to those who register for the program. You do not have to register during this time to be entered in the drawing.

Follow these steps to sign up for the program and register for the drawing:

  1. Sign into RAMweb using an eID and password.
  2. Under the “Records” section, click “Manage my Student Record.” (Use this link even if you are faculty or staff).
  3. Click “Change my Library Options.”
  4. Opt-in by checking the box and clicking submit.
  5. The PRPLD account number will be your 10-digit CSU ID.

Within one day, you will have complete access to all of the resources that the PRPLD has to offer. This collection includes everything from popular fiction and nonfiction books to databases and scholarly journals, electronic magazines to music downloads.

In addition to the online resources, there are three PRPLD locations in Fort Collins: the Old Town Library, the Harmony Library at Front Range Community College, and the Council Tree Library in the Front Range Village center.
