Activities galore welcome newest Rams

Students in front of Moby Arena

The very best way to become part of the Colorado State University campus community is Ram Welcome. The weekend before classes start is packed with activities that build on the Ram Orientation experience and begins a successful career at CSU.

All first-year students are expected to attend Ram Welcome to take advantage of the opportunity to explore academic programs, meet faculty and staff, learn about the many services available to support the college experience, connect with new and current students, learn traditions, and discover what it means. To be. A CSU Ram.

Ram Welcome begins on Thursday, Aug. 17, at 4 p.m., when students living in residence halls meet with their Ram Welcome Leader and Resident Assistant while students living off campus attend the OffCampus Student Welcome. These meetings will cover more about everything planned as part of Ram Welcome.

Convocation for First Year Students takes place at 5:30 p.m. in Moby Arena, while the Parent & Family Reception happens at 4:30 p.m. in the Lory Student Center Grand Ballroom. The Transfer, Adult Learner and Student Veteran Welcome will be in the LSC Theatre, also at 4:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. the fun for everyone moves to the intramural fields for the New Student and Family Welcome Dinner followed by the ever-popular carnival.

Friday features mandatory College Welcome activities as well as a street fair and lunch on Monfort Quad and a Ramapalooza of fun at 7 p.m. in the LSC.

On Saturday, participate in CSU traditions, including being part of the all-freshman C-S-U photo and the RAMbunctious pep rally at 7:30 p.m., and then check out Campus Rec and the outdoor movie on the west lawn of the Lory Student center at 9 p.m. — Power Rangers.

Sunday is full of interest programs to choose from and a final mandatory meeting for residence halls students with RAs and floormates before classes start on Monday.

Need to know more? Go to the Ram Welcome page and all will be revealed, including the detailed schedule of events.

The Experience CSU smartphone app also can be downloaded for the full Ram Welcome schedule and other information for new students and their families. There are specific guides for first-year students, transfer students, and parents and families.

Ram Welcome Leaders, easily identified by their gold Ram Welcome T-shirts, will guide students through all the Ram Welcome activities and events, and will be happy to answer any questions any time.
