In memory: Marilyn “Lyn” Karius

Marilyn “Lyn” Karius, 68, of Fort Collins, passed away in her home Friday, Feb. 10.
A native of Media, Penn., Lyn attended Friend’s Central School and then American University in Washington, D.C.
An inheritor of her father’s love for Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, in 1974 she packed up her LL Bean totes and headed west. Her western adventure began at Ski Tip Ranch in Dillon; skiing during the day and working in the lodge. A few years later she got married and settled in just down the road in Keystone. She had two children and raised them in Fort Collins. Lyn joined staff at Colorado State University in July, 2010, where she worked in the College of Liberal Arts.
Her love for the outdoors continued throughout her life, with many hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park, trips to Steamboat, and biking on the Poudre River Trail.
A devoted and beloved mother, sister, and friend, she will be missed dearly. She is survived by her two children and three sisters.

A memorial celebration will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 26, at the Colorado State University Lory Student Center North Ballroom (Room 384) on the third floor.
