Asian/Pacific Islander Awareness Month

image006.jpgColorado State University’s Asian/Pacific American Student Association (APASA) will celebrate Asian/Pacific Islander Awareness Month throughout April with rich entertainment, food, speakers, and even a Hawaiian lu’au.

“These events are a fun way for Asian and Pacific Islanders to share and celebrate aspects of our culture and heritage with the rest of the CSU community,” said APASA President Justin Miyashiro.

This month’s keynote features Hines Ward, former wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers and first Korean American Super Bowl MVP. Ward will speak about his biracial identity and the challenges he had to overcome throughout his NFL career.

The lecture will be from 7-8 p.m. April 6 in the LSC Grand Ballroom, sponsored by Ram Events, APASA, CSU Athletics, the Black African American Cultural Center and the Asian/Pacific American Cultural Center. For tickets, visit www.csutix.com or the Lory Student Center box office. Tickets are free for students and $8 for community members.
