Von Stomper storms the lagoon

Von Stomper’s first paid gig was less than two years ago, but with driving lyrics and an exuberance that is both fresh and urgent, the Fort Collins-based band has rushed onto the Colorado music scene.

Local audiences can catch this rising quintet Wednesday, July 22, 6:30 p.m. at the next Lagoon Concert on the Colorado State University campus.

Von Stomper claims to be just a bunch of guys living in Fort Collins, trying “to share our experiences and songs with as many people as possible.” Or, as Marquee Magazine put it: “With vintage sound and modern swagger, Von Stomper excellently couples old-time folk Americana with some rock attitude and almost vaudevillian flair.”

But they’re not stopping there. The band is performing almost daily and just about to release their second album, “Américado,” Sept. 19.

Opening for Von Stomper at the Lagoon will be the Rocky Mountain High School Lobo Kids Rock Band at 6:15 p.m.

In addition to all the music, attendees can enjoy food truck fare from The Waffle Lab, Common Link and Bom-Nom-A-Nom on CSU’s grassy lawn west of the Lory Student Center.
