Trucks Are For Girls – The Damsels at the lagoon

the-damselsDid you know trucks are for girls? If so, you’ve probably heard the upbeat, country single, “Trucks Are For Girls” by local band The Damsels. If not, make plans to attend the very first Lagoon Summer Concert at 6:30 p.m. June 17 when The Damsels roll into town and kick off the series with a rip-roaring performance at Colorado State University’s lagoon.

This is somewhat of a homecoming for 21-year-old Aubree Bullock, who was born and raised in Loveland. Her partner in music, Keenie Word, 19, hails from Hermosa, S.D., near the base of Mount Rushmore.

The duo performed at the Greeley Independence Stampede as well as Cheyenne Frontier Days, and rumor has it they might guest star on the hit TV show “Nashville” in the coming months.

The Lagoon Concert Series, now in its 22nd year, is made possible by title sponsors Trivent Financial and Kaiser Permanente, providing a unique twist on the photo booth and a produce-filled farmers’ market.

And, of course, what would a concert be without a few food trucks?

America’s Variety Cart will dish up delicious pizza, Nomad Street Cuisine will grill up the dogs and buns and Divine Ice Cream will top it off with frozen Ninja Turtle confections (yes, really!).

Bring your family (and a blanket) to this week’s lagoon concert performance hosted by Mantooth Marketing and Townsquare Media. For more information, visit the website.
