Homecoming and Family Weekend at Colorado State University is nearly here and with it one of the most enduring traditions of the weekend: Festival on the Oval on Oct. 13 from 3-6 p.m. Known as “the biggest party on the block,” the festival features a beer garden, games, interactive booths, food trucks and more.
University Housing — the unit on campus that oversees the staff, student services and programs in the residence halls and on-campus apartments — is continually adapting its practices in order to stay current in the field and support students in the best ways possible.
Growing Food Security sources thousands of pounds annually of fresh produce to students facing food insecurity, or who simply need to supplement what they can purchase on their own. Last year, they donated an impressive 11,000 pounds of produce to Rams Against Hunger and other local food pantries.
As part of National Hazing Prevention Week — Sept. 25-29 — CSU’s End Hazing Workgroup is aiming to spread awareness that hazing comes in all shapes and forms.
Students, faculty and staff gathered earlier this month for the “Neuroaffirming Spaces for Staff and Student Success” conference at the Lory Student Center, kicking off with special guest speaker and researcher Victoria Verlezza, Ph.D.
The Colorado State University and Northern Colorado Jewish community will celebrate the Jewish Festival of Rosh Hashanah with a five-course, kosher community dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the Fort Collins Senior Center.

Colorado State University is recognized nationwide as a leader in sustainability. One contributing factor is that nearly half of the faculty, staff and students use alternative forms of transportation to get to campus – taking the bus, biking, walking and sharing a ride – according to a recent university commuter survey.
Colorado State University's Off-Campus Life and Neighborhood Services at the City of Fort Collins on Aug. 23 are hosting the 23rd annual Community Welcome, an event designed to help foster a sense of community and connection between students and long-term Fort Collins residents.
